Civil Engineer | Birmingham

A well known client of ours is expanding its presence in the Midlands, and they’re looking for a talented Civil Engineer to join the Birmingham team. About 

You’ll work within our established civil engineering team, supporting the design and delivery of a wide range of projects across residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed‑use sectors. From early‑stage feasibility through to detailed design and construction support, you’ll play a key role in shaping practical, sustainable engineering solutions.

The role

  • Producing civil engineering designs, drawings, and calculations for drainage, highways, earthworks, and infrastructure

  • Preparing technical reports and supporting planning submissions, including Section 38/104/278 applications

  • Working with industry‑standard software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, and AutoCAD

  • Collaborating with clients, contractors, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Supporting project delivery, ensuring work is completed to high technical standards and within deadlines

  • Contributing to a positive team culture and supporting junior colleagues where appropriate

What they’re looking for

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

  • Experience within a consultancy environment (open to a range of experience levels)

  • Strong understanding of UK design standards and approval processes

  • Proactive approach to problem‑solving and communication

  • Working toward professional accreditation (IEng/CEng) is advantageous
