Civil Infrastructure Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. Working on a diverse portfolio of high-profile developments, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of infrastructure solutions across residential, commercial, education, and mixed-use projects.

The successful candidate will have experience in highways, drainage, and external works design, with proficiency in relevant industry software and a strong understanding of UK design standards. You will collaborate with architects, planners, and fellow engineers to develop innovative, sustainable, and technically robust solutions from concept through to construction.

The role

  • Preparing detailed design drawings and specifications for tender purposes.
  • Responding to client requests for information.
  • Attending design team meetings with clients, other design collaborators, and communicating design ideas through sketches, models and presentations.
  • Assisting in the production of construction information for issue to contractors.
  • Coordinating design information with engineers of other disciplines.
  • With the support of the team leader, providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team.
  • Where appropriate, facilitating and organising meetings and CPD training events to contribute to your own development and the development of others.
  • Day-to-day support to colleagues from other disciplines within the office.
  • Attending team meetings with both internal and external disciplines.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Proficiency in design and analysis software, particularly Civil 3D; knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D is advantageous.
  • Experience using InfoDrainage.
  • Strong understanding of CDM regulations and designer’s responsibilities.
  • Ability to take on responsibility and adapt to challenging situations with confidence and competence.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience in designing and delivering structural solutions for major and/or complex projects.
