We are working with a well-established and growing multi-disciplinary civil engineering consultancy looking to appoint an experienced Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer at Engineer or Senior Engineer level.

The Role
You will be responsible for delivering flood risk and drainage solutions from planning through to detailed design, including:
- Preparation of Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs)
- Preparation of Drainage Strategies and technical reports
- Surface and foul water drainage design
- SuDS design and drainage calculations
- Detailed drainage design using InfoDrainage and/or MicroDrainage
- Liaising with clients, Local Authorities, Architects, Planning Consultants and other members of the design team
- Attending design team and client meetings
- Providing technical advice throughout the planning and design process
At Senior Engineer level, you will also take responsibility for managing projects, preparing fee proposals, managing budgets and resources, mentoring junior engineers and providing flood risk and drainage advice on masterplans and development layouts.
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you will have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- UK consultancy experience in flood risk and drainage
- Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy Reports
- Experience designing drainage schemes using InfoDrainage and/or MicroDrainage
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Experience with residential and/or commercial developments
- Knowledge of SuDS, NPPF, CIRIA guidance, Sewer Sector Guidance and Building Regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage your own workload, deadlines and client expectations
- Full UK driving licence
Experience with S104 drainage designs, fluvial/pluvial flood modelling, mentoring junior engineers or business development would be advantageous.
