Senior Civil Engineer | Manchester

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a growing and dynamic engineering consultancy in Manchester.

This role is ideal for a technically capable engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, building strong client relationships, and supporting the development of junior team members. You will play a key role in delivering infrastructure and development projects across a variety of sectors, working within a collaborative and forward-thinking team environment.

Role

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, and strategic development sectors.
  • Produce and review highways, drainage, and infrastructure designs.
  • Manage projects through all stages of the design process.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients, local authorities, and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, specifications, and drawings.
  • Mentor and support Graduate Engineers and Civil Engineers.
  • Assist with project planning, resource management, and commercial performance.
  • Contribute to business development activities and strengthen existing client relationships.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience within an engineering consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of drainage and highway design.
  • Experience using industry-standard software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and InfoDrainage/MicroDrainage.
  • A sound understanding of relevant UK design standards and approval processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing projects and coordinating design teams.
  • Chartered status or progression towards Chartership with ICE is desirable.
