Senior Civil Engineer

Locations: Belfast, Birmingham, London (Hybrid/Remote Options Available)

Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 + Benefits

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a growing civil engineering consultancy working on a wide range of residential infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland.

The business has a strong pipeline of work and is looking to appoint experienced engineers who can lead the design and delivery of residential infrastructure schemes while mentoring junior engineers and liaising directly with clients.

Fully remote working will be considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of residential infrastructure projects.
  • Produce highways, drainage and external works designs.
  • Prepare and review technical reports and engineering drawings.
  • Undertake detailed drainage design including SuDS strategies.
  • Liaise with developers, architects, local authorities and statutory undertakers.
  • Coordinate projects from feasibility through planning and construction.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers.
  • Attend client and design team meetings.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar.
  • Previous experience delivering residential infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of highways and drainage design.
  • Experience with either:
    • Civil 3D
    • Site 3D
    • Flow / Causeway Flow
    • MicroDrainage
  • Good understanding of UK design standards and adoption agreements including:
    • Section 38
    • Section 278
    • Section 104
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Working towards or already Chartered (ICE).
  • Experience managing projects and mentoring engineers.
  • Knowledge of UK and/or Irish development standards.
