We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to support a busy Civil & Structural team during a peak period of project delivery.
This opportunity would suit a well-rounded Civil Engineer who can quickly integrate into an existing project team, take ownership of defined design packages and deliver work independently with minimal supervision.
Initial projects are expected to be within the Power sector, including civil engineering works associated with substations. There may also be future opportunities across nuclear and defence projects, subject to the relevant security clearance.
The Role
You will be involved in a broad range of civil engineering design, including:
• Drainage and SuDS
• Earthworks and levels
• Pavement and hardstanding design
• External works
• Roads and access infrastructure
• Utilities and ducting
• 3D underground services coordination
• Civil 3D modelling and design
• Delivery and ownership of individual design packages
• Coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams
What We’re Looking For
We are particularly interested in engineers with a broad civil engineering design background rather than candidates whose experience is solely focused on drainage.
Ideally, you will have:
• Degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering
• Strong experience with Civil 3D
• Experience using InfoDrainage and/or MicroDrainage
• Good technical understanding of drainage, earthworks, pavements and external works
• Experience with levels, utilities, ducts and associated infrastructure
• Knowledge of underground services coordination
• Ability to independently manage and deliver defined design packages
• Ideally Chartered or Incorporated with ICE, although this is not essential
Experience within Power, Energy, Infrastructure, Buildings, Nuclear or Defence would be particularly beneficial.
Security Clearance
Basic clearance will be required for the initial Power sector projects. Any future Nuclear or Defence work may require SC clearance, and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of clearance.
