Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer – Development

Are you an experienced Civil Infrastructure Engineer looking to work on a diverse portfolio of development projects across Scotland and the wider UK?
We are working with a leading international engineering and multidisciplinary design consultancy that is looking to strengthen its Development Infrastructure team in Edinburgh with an experienced Senior Civil Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established team delivering civil engineering solutions across a wide range of residential, commercial, industrial, regeneration and major development projects.
The Role
You will be involved in projects from initial feasibility and masterplanning through planning, technical approvals and detailed design/construction, working across several multidisciplinary projects and client accounts.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Highway and road infrastructure design
- Drainage strategies and detailed drainage design
- SuDS and flood risk
- Infrastructure masterplanning and site appraisals
- Utilities planning and coordination
- Production of technical reports, calculations and construction drawings
- Concept studies and infrastructure strategies
- Technical approval submissions
- Liaison with clients, local authorities, water authorities and statutory bodies
- Working closely with multidisciplinary design teams
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
- Assisting with project delivery, budgets and programmes
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you will have strong UK development infrastructure experience with knowledge of:
- Highways and roads design
- Drainage and SuDS
- Flood Risk Assessments and flood risk management
- Development infrastructure design
- Technical approvals and statutory agreements
- Civil 3D, InfoDrainage and/or PDS
- Infrastructure masterplanning
- DMRB, Designing Streets and relevant Local Authority guidance
- Sewerage Sector Guidance
- Liaison with highway, water and statutory authorities
Experience working across the UK development sector is particularly important.
You should be comfortable working directly with clients and other design professionals and be capable of taking responsibility for the technical delivery of your own projects.
