About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Contract Senior Civil Engineer to join a dynamic and growing engineering consultancy based in London. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of residential and commercial developments, contributing their technical expertise to a range of high-profile projects across the capital.

You’ll be working alongside a collaborative team of civil and structural engineers, architects, and planners, providing critical design and engineering input from concept through to construction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead civil engineering design and delivery on a variety of residential and commercial schemes

  • Prepare and review drainage (SuDS), highways, and external works designs to UK standards

  • Produce detailed drawings, specifications, and technical reports

  • Manage and coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external consultants

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

  • Attend client and design meetings, offering solutions to engineering challenges

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards


Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience, with strong UK project exposure

  • Extensive experience in residential and commercial developments

  • Proficient in Civil 3D, MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage, and AutoCAD

  • Strong understanding of UK design standards (e.g., Building Regs, Sewers for Adoption, DMRB)

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

  • Right to work in the UK


Desirable:

  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) status (ICE or equivalent)

  • Previous experience working under contract/freelance arrangements

  • Familiarity with planning applications and section agreements (S104, S106, S278, S38)
