Our client, a growing engineering consultancy based in Leicester, is looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to strengthen their structural team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer seeking greater responsibility, client exposure, and involvement in a varied portfolio of projects.
Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you'll lead the design and delivery of structural projects from concept through to construction. Working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and fellow engineers, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of projects across multiple sectors, including:
- Residential developments
- Commercial buildings
- Industrial facilities
- Retail schemes
- Education projects
- Refurbishment and regeneration schemes
You'll be given the autonomy to manage projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
Responsibilities
- Leading structural design on a variety of projects from feasibility through to detailed design.
- Designing structures in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
- Producing and reviewing structural calculations, reports and technical specifications.
- Managing project programmes, budgets and client relationships.
- Attending site visits, surveys and project meetings.
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
- Mentoring and developing graduate and intermediate engineers.
- Supporting the technical and commercial success of projects.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Several years of experience within a UK structural consultancy environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of relevant design codes and standards.
- Experience delivering projects independently.
- Proficient with industry-standard analysis and design software.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Progressing towards Chartership or already Chartered (IStructE or ICE).
