I’m currently working with a leading, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer on a contract basis to provide interim support to a busy London Structures team. This is a contract opportunity for an experienced engineer to step into live projects, add immediate value, and support the delivery of complex infrastructure and building schemes.
This role offers the chance to work within a well-established London-based civils and structures team operating in a genuinely multi-disciplinary environment. You’ll be contributing to high-profile projects across sectors such as aviation, power, defence, life sciences and the public sector, with your assignment aligned to your background and strengths. The successful contractor will take ownership of defined structural design packages, collaborating closely with engineers, stakeholders and project leaders to deliver technically sound, commercially aware solutions.
Our client is looking for a Chartered Structural Engineer who can confidently lead or contribute to civil and structural design packages, work effectively within integrated project teams, and maintain high standards of technical quality, safety and programme delivery.

What You Need To Succeed
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of UK structural design codes and standards.
- Experience delivering building and/or infrastructure-related structural design.
- Background in areas such as building structures, foundations, earthworks, or road and bridge works.
- Proven ability to work within integrated, multi-disciplinary design teams.
- Understanding of technical assurance, self-checking and quality processes.
- Awareness of CDM and health & safety responsibilities.
- Eligibility to obtain relevant security clearance.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Chartered Engineer status (MICE or MIStructE).
