Senior Structural Engineer

An established and growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Shoreditch office. This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced structural engineer who wants to take ownership of complex projects, lead talented technical teams and play an influential role in the continued growth of a successful London operation.

 

You’ll work within an experienced structural engineering team, leading projects from concept through to completion across sectors including commercial, residential, mixed-use, education, healthcare and infrastructure. Alongside delivering technically challenging work, you’ll have the opportunity to manage and mentor engineers and technicians, build relationships with clients, architects and contractors, and contribute to business development and the strategic direction of the team. The role offers genuine scope to influence how projects are delivered while championing innovation, sustainability and best engineering practice.

What You Need To Succeed

 

  • Minimum five years’ structural engineering experience gained within a UK consultancy environment.
  • Proven experience leading structural engineering projects from concept through to completion, including multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, UK Building Regulations and CDM Regulations.
  • Design experience across materials including reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber and masonry.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring engineers, graduates and CAD/BIM technicians.
  • Commercial awareness, including experience managing project budgets, resources, risks and fee proposals, alongside developing client relationships.
  • Experience with relevant structural and design software, which may include Tekla Structural Designer, SCIA Engineer, Tedds, MasterSeries, AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
  • Chartered Engineer status with the IStructE/ICE, or close to achieving it, is desirable.
  • A strong academic background with a BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
