Senior Structural Engineer

Fully Remote | Outside IR35 | £40–£50 per Hour | 20 Hours per Week

We are recruiting for an established structural engineering consultancy seeking an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to support its ongoing project workload on a part-time contract basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer looking for a flexible, fully remote contract position working 20 hours per week, delivering structural design solutions across a range of building projects.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering structural engineering designs, calculations and technical solutions, working independently while collaborating with the wider engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake structural analysis and design across a variety of building projects.
  • Produce detailed structural calculations, specifications and technical reports.
  • Design structural elements using steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry, as required.
  • Review drawings and coordinate with technicians and other design disciplines.
  • Develop practical, cost-effective structural engineering solutions.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant UK Building Regulations, Eurocodes and British Standards.
  • Provide technical input and resolve structural design challenges throughout project delivery.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Senior Structural Design Engineer within a UK engineering consultancy.
  • Strong structural design and analytical skills.
  • Experience working on building structures, ideally across residential, commercial and industrial projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant UK structural design codes and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver projects remotely.
  • Strong communication and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using structural analysis and design software.

Contract Details

  • Rate: Circa £40–£50 per hour
  • Hours: 20 hours per week – Part-Time
  • Location: Fully Remote – UK Wide
  • IR35 Status: Outside IR35
