Senior Transport Planner

We are looking for a Senior Transport Planner to join our clients busy Transport team in London. You’ll be joining an award-winning consultancy who are specialists in the Transport sector & work across all sectors, including residential, retail, leisure, office, distribution and industrial projects, education and healthcare, and mixed-use schemes.

They provide transport planning, highway design, flood risk and drainage input at all stages of the development process; from feasibility, through the planning application process and then to detailed design.

The role

  • Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, and supporting technical notes
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, including liaison with local authorities, statutory bodies and design teams
  • Mentor and technically review the work of junior staff, providing guidance and professional development support
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality assurance, and company procedures.
  • Undertake and oversee transport modelling, forecasting, and data analysis using industry-standard tools
  • Interpret national, regional, and local transport policy and apply it effectively to development proposals

What you need to succeed

  • Minimum 4 years relevant Transport Planning experience.
  • An accredited Degree in an applicable analytical subject – for example Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, Mathematics etc
  • An understanding/experience of the UK planning process
  • Sets and achieves high standard of work with a particular focus on details, accuracy and quality of own work
  • Meets the given brief with well-presented information, completed to agreed timescales
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to clearly communicate findings from complex data
  • Approachable and professional manner when dealing with colleagues and clients.
  • Computer literate with advanced use of Microsoft Office
  • Good levels of numeracy, including a good understanding of spreadsheets
  • Understanding of the use of AutoCAD
  • Understanding of GIS software
