Role

As a Structural Engineer, you will be involved in the design and delivery of a diverse range of building structures from concept through to construction. Working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary design teams, you will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out structural design and analysis for a variety of building projects.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and design documentation.
  • Design structures using steel, reinforced concrete, timber, and masonry.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other members of the design team.
  • Undertake site inspections and attend project meetings when required.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with current regulations, standards, and best practice.
  • Support the delivery of projects on time and within budget.

Requirements

Essential

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Previous experience within a UK structural engineering consultancy.
  • Strong understanding of structural design principles and UK Building Regulations.
  • Experience working with a range of construction materials.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership (IStructE or ICE).
  • Experience using Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, MasterSeries, or similar packages.
  • Experience in refurbishment and retrofit projects.
  • Full UK driving licence.
