Structural Engineer

I'm currently working with a highly regarded independent structural engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join its growing team in central London, near Euston. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern, forward-thinking business that has established an outstanding reputation for delivering innovative engineering solutions across a wide variety of sectors, while investing heavily in the development of its people.

You'll become part of a collaborative and experienced team, contributing to projects from concept through to completion across an exceptionally diverse portfolio. Current work includes cutting-edge data centres, self-storage facilities, residential developments, housing schemes, industrial buildings and luxury international resort projects. If you're looking to broaden your experience rather than specialise in a single sector, this role offers genuine technical variety and the opportunity to work alongside talented engineers on complex, high-profile developments. The consultancy is also passionate about developing its staff, providing outstanding Chartership support, experienced mentors and a culture where knowledge sharing and professional growth are actively encouraged.

The successful candidate will have around four to five years' structural design experience within a UK consultancy environment and be keen to continue developing both technically and professionally. This role would suit someone who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems, values collaboration and is looking to build a long-term career within an ambitious and supportive consultancy.

What’s On Offer

  • Exposure to an exceptionally varied portfolio of projects across multiple sectors.
  • Excellent Chartership support with experienced mentors and a structured development programme.
  • Regular company trips abroad and team events that reward success and strengthen collaboration.
  • Clear opportunities for career progression within a growing and ambitious consultancy.
  • A genuinely supportive culture where your ideas are valued and your professional development is prioritised.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Approximately four to five years' structural design experience within a UK engineering consultancy.
  • Experience designing structures in a range of materials, including steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
  • Competent using industry-standard structural design software (such as Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, Robot or similar).
  • Working knowledge of relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A proactive attitude with strong problem-solving abilities and a desire to take ownership of projects.
  • Chartered Engineer status with the IStructE/ICE, or close to achieving it, is desirable.
  • A strong academic background with a BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
